Can you believe it is Fall? Finally the Kentucky weather is in sync with the actual season of October. Which lets you know that the holiday season is close with only 2 months away. We have begun posting holiday cards for you to get an early start on your Holiday greetings. We will also begin posting tips for sending your holiday cards in a few weeks so you can get an early start.

With the holidays approaching we don't want to forget the best holiday of them all your birthday so don't forget to update your mailing list contact information so we can put a gift in the mail!

Featured Cards of the Month - Celebrate Women

Our featured cards for October is our Celebrate Women Collection. October recognizes various health issues that affect women such as Breast Cancer, Lupus, and AIDS. What better time of the year to celebrate the women in your life and encourage them to monitor their health not only for themselves but for the benefit of all lives they impact.

ZeVin Creations is proud to be part of the Indie For Awareness group. Independent business owners have formed this project to show support of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating a % of their sales to various Breast Cancer related organizations. ZeVin Creations will donate 50% to the Harriett B. Porter Cancer Education and Research Endowment (a local group that encourages screening and prevention for African Americans) based on the sale of our "The Caring Woman" cards. ZeVin Creations believes that you can acknowledge awareness months such as Breast Cancer with a card which is inspirational and rewarding. You can acknowledge an awareness month via a card by:

1. Sending someone that is associated with a particular awareness a thinking of you themed card. Let's say you know someone who is either a Breast Cancer patient or survivor, you can show them how much they mean to you by having a card with an inspirational quote. If you look at this from the Paying It Forward mindset -- sending a random patient/survivor a card will truly be a source of encouragement! Break up the moments of pain and suffering with a ray of hope just with a few words.

2. Make people knowledgable of a particular Awareness of the Month. This is especially true of the health related awareness months for your card could be a reminder for someone to get a check-up on their life/health! Think about how many women have survived breast cancer because they got a reminder for getting their Mammogram! Wouldn't that be awesome knowing your card saved someone's life!

3. Acknowledge someones practices/cultures. Not every awareness of a month is health related. So a card can let someone know that you accept them for who they are!! So sending a card themed around a particular awareness will allow someone know you respect them which over time ends the negativity in our society. An example would be to send an spiritual/religous themed card to a clergyman/minster this month just to celebrate their practice and responsibilities.

Now we know there are several awarnesses for the month of October, but take this time to do something you've never done before. Send a card just because it is a particular awareness month -- Show someone that you care, that you respect them, or remind them of a cause. Be a part of changing our world to be a better place!
